Back in the year of 1999 A.D (666! if turned around and inverted), out of the ashes of punk band Muffan, noise-rock entrepreneurs Bisund ,and with the aid of two current Mínus members, arose The Almighty Klink. Originally intended as a S.O.I.A-style NYHC band under the short lived name Brella, the band quickly developed a much heavier and faster musical style, fairly reminiscent of the power-violence scene of the time.
After the departure of original guitarist Bjössi, and the addition of current L.O.T.H guitarist/vocalist Aggi and current Mínus bass player Þröstur, both leading a dual six string onslaught of dire proportions, the quintet embarked on an extremely aggressive musical journey into the murky waters of truly technical metal/hardcore, popularly named noise-core by modern critics. The resulting meleé of visceral audial attacks can best be described as a drunkenly fatal barfight between Converge and Botch members, with a healthy dose of jassy drum work and the prevalence of hazardously violent stage performances by singer Guðni and six string samurai Þröstur thrown in the mix.
With this line-up the band wreaked merciless havoc upon a devoted, and steadily growing, fanbase until the defection of Þröstur. In this partialy decimated form the band persevered until bass player Júrí went AWOL and relocated to Denmark two years ago. At that time a mighty blow was dealt to the budding icelandic hardcore scene, the hiatus of KLINK. After a succesful retreival mission, Júri has been duly court marshaled and is now making a second tour-of-duty within the murderous rank and file of the almighty KLINK. The beast has been aroused from it's slumber, and it's primary assault will be made under the auspices of the iceland airvawes festival. We will attack with shock and awe, and the target is YOU!!!
KLINK released 666 Degrees - a 4 track Ep on Hitt Records in 2001. During their brief first coming they opened for such foreign acts as Darkest Hour, Stampin' Ground and Out Cold.
